This laboratory discusses various types of point operations applied to images. Enhancement techniques such as histogram equalization and contrast stretching are discussed. The concept of gamma which describes a nonlinear behavior of display devices is covered, as well as the point operation used to compensate for this nonlinearity.
To run this laboratory, you will need:
Laboratory Procedure - Instructions for running the laboratory in pdf format.
race.tif - Image used in lab.
kids.tif - Image used in lab.
linear.tif - Image stored on a linear scale.
